News: Urban Affairs Association Conference 2019

News, Research Blog

Between April 24 and 27, 2019, the 49th Annual Conference of the Urban Affairs Association took place at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center in Los Angeles, California. This is a conference we have been attending for three years, because not only of the interdisciplinary scholarship but also the welcoming atmosphere. This year was not an exception.

Together with Dr. Kaon Ko and Dr. Takehiro Sakurai (both from Tokyo University of Science), URT’s Zdenka Havlova and Marco Reggiani organized a panel session discussing the recent redevelopment efforts in Tokyo as a part of the Special Track on Urban Issues in Asia and the Pacific Rim.

The trip also presented many opportunities to explore Los Angeles and its urban realm, which we will share in upcoming posts.
